Cycling towards the start line

Well, the day is upon me. I will be beginning my 2nd cycle in two short days. Since my last update, I’ve moved into my own little studio apartment, finally free of the stress of living with a control freak roommate! I haven’t prepared for this cycle like I did the first one. But, as far as I can tell, all the dietary changes, exercise, meditation, etc. etc. accomplished very little last time. I actually wonder, whether my state of mind is more important at this stage. This time, I’ve made no major moves toward eating healthy. Instead, I’ve been eating like I have always eaten – a mixture of healthy and crappy. I love my chocolate, my milkshakes, my snack foods. So, instead of depriving myself of the foods that I love, I’ve just tried to be more balanced and have focused on just being relaxed about everything. I really hope it makes a difference. I know that when I come home at night I feel like I’ve entered an oasis of calm. This is my peaceful place. I’m a true believer in the mind-body connection, so I hope that this cycle will be a fruitful one. Wish me luck everyone!

Wishing you luck! I’ve just started my first cycle and am also keeping a blog. I’ve found the blogs of other women going through this very helpful, so I’ll be following your second cycle with interest!

Isn’t weird how you start to miss getting injected and going to NYU? I was so happy for it to be over at the time b/c I was so bloated, but I am kind of missing it!

Thanks for the good wishes! Yes, it is weird about missing the injections. I kind of enjoy them, but I’ve always been into hospitals and medical environments ever since I was hospitalized 4 times as a kid. And now I work in a medical center!

Good luck with everything!! You’ll do fine. & don’t focus so much on the number. a few good quality eggs are great. My doctor has told me that at our age we still make good quality eggs, just few per cycle. So if you have 15, you may have the same number of good quality if you only made 5-6. of course every doctor has their own philosophy. I do like the routine of going to my doctor. I ended up sticking with New Hope and like them a lot. Btw, for anyone else reading this, they do take insurance so your monitoring is covered. btw, Msegg… i totally get what you’re saying about how it feels like play money after a while. But 1000 off is a great thing. Keep us updated.!! Sending good vibes your way. Here’s to you having many good quality eggs!!
